COLOMBIAN PERCUSSION QUARTET PROJECT
A collaboration between EAFIT Universidad (Colombia) and UMKC Conservatory (USA) to cultivate and celebrate composers from Colombia, to create and spotlight outstanding compositions for the percussion quartet medium, and to forge communal bonds between musical artists from Colombia and the United States.
COMMISSION COMPETITION
-- Open to composers born in Colombia
-- Submissions can include up to three (3) existing compositions that best represent the composer
-- A jury will select one composer from whom to commission a 10-20 minute work for percussion quartet
-- The selected composer will receive $2000 USD, a professional recording of the work, and a premiere in the summer of 2027 in Medellín, Colombia
-- The commissioned work must be received no later than May 1, 2027

CALL FOR SCORES
-- Open to composers born in Colombia
-- Submissions are limited to one (1) piece per composer of an existing published (self or otherwise) percussion quartet
-- A jury will select at least one (1) composition to be professionally recorded and premiered in the summer of 2027 in Medellín, Colombia
